CERAKOTE Oven Cure H-Series 2 Stage Ceramic Coating with (Part B) Catalysis Part B Catalyst is included with each purchase. The OvenCure series is best for all-around projects, offering the ability to mix custom colors and being particularly well-suited for stencils and patterns.
The CERAKOTE H-Series is a 2-part, high-performance ceramic thin film coating with the largest color selection and mixing capability. It offers superior corrosion resistance and durability, rated at 5/5 stars - the highest rating. Customers can choose from over 100 colors, with the ability to mix for unlimited custom colors and patterns. This unrivaled thin film protective coating is perfect for tight tolerance applications, typically eliminating the need for masking. It offers unmatched corrosion, chemical, and durability performance through its unique ceramic-polymer technology, which provides both flexibility and excellent physical performance. The 2-part system also allows control over the gloss level.
NIC Industries Inc., founded over 35 years ago, has a vision to manufacture coating products with global impact. NIC now produces industry-leading coatings distributed and sold in nearly 90 countries, with applications in technology, aerospace, sporting goods, and the automotive industry. Their relentless pursuit is to provide market-leading coating technologies with a passion to never settle.
The application process involves several key phases: disassembly, degreasing, masking, sandblasting, racking, gas out, and coating preparation. Careful attention to detail is crucial throughout, including the use of powder-free latex or nitrile gloves to handle parts, proper masking, and the correct sandblasting process. The coating is then mixed, strained, and sprayed using an HVLP/LVLP spray gun, with adjustments to the pattern, fluid, and air controls to achieve the desired coverage.
After spraying, the parts must be allowed to sit for a minimum of 15 minutes before curing. The recommended curing temperatures and times vary based on the substrate, with metal H-Series requiring 250°F (121°C) for 2 hours, metal Elite Series requiring 300°F (148°C) for 1 hour, and plastics/polymers and composites requiring lower temperatures of 150-180°F (65-82°C) for 2 hours. Once curing is complete, the parts can be reassembled and used.
The Cerakote system includes everything needed to spray the coating, such as the HVLP spray gun with a 0.8 nozzle, 3 (4 oz) testers of CERAKOTE coating, the Part B Catalyst, and a Cerakote graduated cylinder for proper mixing.
